Dr. James C. Walter specializes in arthroscopy and the treatment of sports-related injuries. He is committed to the highest quality of care for all athletes ranging from youth to professional.
A native of Oklahoma, Dr. Walter attended Stanford University. In 1991 he earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences and graduated with Distinction. Dr. Walter received his medical degree from Washington University School in St. Louis. Dr. Walter completed an orthopedic residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. Following his residency, Dr. Walter was awarded a prestigious surgical fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. He trained with Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Bill Clancy. During his time there, Dr. Walter assisted in team care of the University of West Alabama and the Birmingham Barons. He also assisted in the care of college and professional athletes from around the country and world.
Joining Texas Orthopaedic Associates in 2001, Dr. Walter currently serves as Orthopedic Team Physician for Allen High School, Wakeland High School and Little Elm High School. He serves as an Orthopedic Consultant to the University of Texas at Dallas, Prestonwood Christian Academy and Creekview High School.
