BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Turnage is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a specialty dealing with the nonsurgical treatment of various neurologic and orthopedic problems. She has a special interest in non-operative treatments of neck and back pain.

Dr. Turnage completed her undergraduate training at Baylor University with a degree in Biology in 1986. She then attended the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990 and completing an Internal Medicine Internship there in 1991. She finished her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago at Northwestern University in 1994. Since then, Dr. Turnage has worked in both private practice and academic settings, including time as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University. She joined Texas Orthopaedic Associates, where she currently practices, in 2006.

Accolades:
While serving as Assistant Clinical Professor at Emory University, Dr. Turnage’s residents twice bestowed her the Teacher of the Year Award.
