Texas Institute for Surgery at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas is owned by Texas Institute for Surgery, LLP, a limited liability partnership that includes individual physicians, Value Management Group and Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas. Information concerning individual physician investors is available upon request.
The management and staff of Texas Institute for Surgery at THD is committed to providing high-quality care for our patients and physicians.
Individuals who may have a concern about patient care and safety in the organization that has not been addressed are encouraged to contact the administrator.
Leadership Team
John is currently the President for Texas Institute for Surgery, an acute care, for-profit, CIHQ accredited partnered entity owned by independent physicians and Texas Health Resources. John previously held the title of VP of Finance/CFO & Compliance Officer prior to accepting the role as President in July, 2019.
John’s education, licensure and certifications include:
- Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston
- Master of Law, specializing in Taxation from New York University
- Master of Law, specializing in Health Law from Loyola University in Chicago
- Attorney at Law, licensed in Texas
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance
John has a diverse background in varied industries. He has worked in public accounting as a CPA (tax), practiced law (corporate & estate planning), served as an executive for a meat processing business facilitating a multifamily/multigenerational succession plan, university professor (tax & accounting), mediator, served a Federal Court Special Master to liquidated a shipyard & tugboat line, rural hospital CFO, Director of Administrative Services (long-term adolescent behavioral health hospital), psychiatric hospital chain CFO, partial hospitalization company COO, CFO & Compliance Officer, and nursing home behavioral health company CFO & Compliance Officer.
During his career, John and his wife Beth have lived aboard their sailboat as well as Southeast Texas, Houston, New York, Southern California, Nashville, Corpus Christi and now anchors in Plano, TX. John has three grown sons, eight grandchildren and enjoys fishing, sailing and beach vacations.
